Celebrating 16 Years of Gorgeous Hair

A little story about us… and you.

This March, Gorgeous Hair turns 16, and honestly, it still blows my mind. When I opened the salon, I didn’t have kids, Instagram didn’t exist, and my biggest worry was whether my Dad’s brick front desk (yes, brick!) was too tall for our lovely senior clients. Spoiler: it was.

So much has changed since then, the colours on the walls, the layout, the trends, even the way people find us. But the heart of the salon has stayed exactly the same.

Because the real story of Gorgeous Hair isn’t about me.
It’s about you, our clients, and the journey we’ve shared.

Over the years, we’ve watched little ones come in for their first “kindy haircut,” then return for Year 10 formals, Year 12 formals, uni events, job interviews, and even engagement celebrations. We’ve seen confidence grow, identities evolve, and whole families walk through our doors.

You’ve trusted us with your hair, but also with your stories, your milestones, your “I need a change,” your “fix this please,” and your “just make me feel like me again.”

And that’s what I’m most proud of.

Behind the scenes, our team has grown in the most beautiful way. Four out of five of our senior stylists actually trained here from apprentices. Watching them grow from apprentices into confident, talented hairdressers has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Their passion, their care, their excitement, it’s the heartbeat of this place.

I don’t get the same thrill from unpacking stock these days, and I happily leave that Christmas morning moment to the apprentices now, but what I never get tired of is creating confidence. Watching a client look in the mirror, smile, and suddenly sit a little taller fills me with joy every time.

Sixteen years later, I’m still grateful every single day for the Central Coast community that has supported us, believed in us, and grown with us. You’re the reason we’re here. You’re the hero of this story. We’re just the guides helping you feel confident, beautiful, and completely yourself.
